Today we cut out two sections on the passenger quarter panel that had rust and dents. Then we cut out new pieces out of new patch panels that I purchased from Auto Body Panels in Indianapolis.

One thing to keep in mind if you are ever looking for patch panels for a 62 Galaxie. When I called them, I told them that I was looking for patch panels for a 62 Ford Galaxie. They looked in their books and said that they don't have anything for a 62 Ford Galaxie. I told them that sometimes the 62 Galaxie is referred to as simply 62 Ford. When they looked it up as a 62 Ford instead of 62 Ford Galaxie, they found patch panels for it.

So back to the work at hand. In the second picture the patch panels are just held in place with vice grips. The next step is to take the panels off and clean up the rust behind them, then weld the patch panels onto the car.

The patch panels are temporarily held in place with vice grips for a test fit.
