The fenders on a 62 Galaxie are made of several pieces that are spot welded together. From the outside, the fenders looked fine, but upon further inspection, rust was found between the inner braces and the fender. Some of the inner braces had to be removed by drilling out the spot welds. Then the rust was fixed on the fender. The braces were rusted so bad that I had to cut up an extra fender that I had to get the braces out of it. I then sandblasted, acid washed, and painted the braces with POR 15. Then the braces were welded back into the fender. I then painted the inside of the fender with POR 15 also. I say "I" a lot, but my friend, Wayne, has been helping me do all the body work on this car. Actually I have been helping him. He is an expert and really knows his stuff. I have learned a lot by helping him.
