After two years of working on the main body and body panels, it is time to put some color on the parts. It has been a whole lot of work to get to this point, but the hard work has paid off. Without all the time spent making the panels perfect, it wouldn't matter how shiny the paint was, it still wouldn't look right. But as you will be able to see in the pictures, the panels are straight AND the paint is shiny... the best of both worlds. My friend Wayne really knows his stuff. I have been helping him, by doing whatever he tells me to do, but when it came to the fine details, I asked him to do those by himself. I didn't want to take the risk of screwing up the two years of hard work we have done. No matter how hard or intricate the job was, Wayne made it look like he was doing it effortlessly. He has also been teaching me how to do everything we have done along the way. I have learned a lot, but I will never get the amount of experience needed to accomplish the level of quality work that Wayne can do. Wayne also sprayed most of the early coats of primer, all the final coats of primer, and all the paint and clear coat.

The first picture shows one of the front fenders with the base coat sprayed. The second picture shows the other fender with the base coat and clear coat sprayed. Wayne sprayed two coats of base coat and two coats of clear on everything. We used the top of the line Dupont paint and clear. The edges of the doors, underside of the trunk lid, and underside of the hood were also sprayed today.
