Today we prepped and painted the main body of the car. Wayne and I sanded the final coat of filler primer till it was flat. We block sanded the car using 320 grit, then 400 grit. Then we sprayed and wiped the car off, and masked off all the openings. We did this so that when spraying the paint, none of the dust that is inside the car wouldn't blow out onto the fresh paint.

After masking all the openings, we wiped the car again with a fresh tack cloth, then Wayne sprayed two coats of basecoat color and two coats of clear, allowing each coat to flash off 15 minutes between the color coats and about 30 minutes between the clear coats.

As usual Wayne made a hard job look easy and it came out perfect. Next week we will spray the outside of the doors, hood and trunk lid.

Once everything is sprayed, we will sand all the dust nibs off the paint with 1500 grit sandpaper then buff with two grades of compound.
