It has been a while since I posted, mostly because I haven't done anything interesting that could be captured in a picture. I have all the window motors and regulators in for the side windows. I have had the headliner installed also.

The headliner is a story in itself. A lot of people, including people who make headliners, don't realize that the 62 XL had a different headliner material and design, than the non XL cars. Although everyone advertises that they have 62 XL headliners, no one actually has them in the correct design. I searched for about 2.5 years for one and couldn't find one. Someone told me to contact Mustang Market, so I did. They didn't have one in the correct design, but they said if they could get the material, they would make one for me. I sent them a swatch and they started the search. It took a couple of years, but they finally found some material and made me a headliner.

Ok, back to what I have done on the car since my last post. In addition to what I have already mentioned, I have installed the front, back and side windows. I installed the wing vents and door seals also. I started working on the heater/AC box and associated parts, but haven't completed any of them yet. At the same time I have been working some on my 63 Galaxie. I upholstered one of the seats in the 63 and put it in the 62 so I could sit in the car and steer it when I move it around. Oh yea, I also have the steering column in. I washed the car and water got in in several places around the side windows, so I have some adjusting to do. Once that is done I can align the front fenders and hood. Here is a picture of the car as it sits today.
