I have been working hard on the rust when I have had a chance. It is coming along slow as usual. But at least I am getting something done even if it isn't much. I had some rust in the passenger side inner trunk panel. I don't know if that is the correct name of it, but that is the only name I can come up with. I ended up replacing it in four pieces. I was able to get one piece out of my parts car and I made the other pieces out of sheet metal that I cut from the quarter panel of the same parts car. Once those were welded back in, I started on a hole in the rear of the trunk right in front of the tail lights. It is a common place for the 62 Galaxies to rust. The brace that runs under it was also rusted, so I cut out a section of that also. I haven't fixed that part yet, but the second picture shows the rear floor piece welded in place. I will work on the hole on the other side of the floor and then figure out how to replace the sections of the brace that are rusted. I had originally planned on cutting some sections of the brace out of my parts car, but it was rusted all the way across.
