203. VIN 2P67X187503, BODY 65B, COLOR A, TRIM 86, DATE 19F, DSO BLANK, AXLE 1, TRANS 4
Comments: this car needs some work but it will be worth it when I'm done. The front end has been replaced from an accident in 1974. It sat since. I bought it in July of 06. The preveous owner replaced all the brakes line and all. Gas tank has been cleaned and all new lines. I will have to replace the sending unit but other than that its a real tight car. The interior is great. Very little wear. Odometer reads a little over 60000 and I believe it to be true. I am real happy with this car and looking forward to taking it to shows when I get the front end ready and painted. Submitted by Vern Johnson, 12/10/2006.

Comments: This car is all original factory paint, glass, upholstery, floor mats, sill plates. and everything else. The only changes are old seals and carb kits. Some brake work, new shocks and front springs. On a scale of 1 to 10/10 best, this car would reach 8 to 9 in my opinion. Submitted by VERDIE J NELSON, 12/23/2006.

Comments: Legend has it this was owned by a little old lady in eastern PA for many years, then it sat in a field for a while. Her grandaughter later used it for a short time and after skating on ice and hitting a tree sent it back to the field. The car was then used as a daily driver and passed between two friends of mine. I rescued the old girl on Dec 27th, 2006 and want to kep it ORIGIONAL, with only mods to make it stronger, more efficient or small non-permanent mods. Submitted by John H, 12/27/2006.

Comments: Car bought new by my Dad in Van Nuys Cal. it towed another black 406 car to local drag strips...San Fernando, Irwindale, & Lyons ...backed by a FORD factory team...several eng. mods were done to the other car, but they clamed it has stock...my brother Chuck and I use to flat tow and run @ Irwindale quite often...took the 406 and T-10 out in the late 70,s and built a real real nice 427, backed by a super top loader & N case 9" Sommers Bros. 35 spline axles and spool, and running Firestone 9" #9 compound slicks... that''s the only way that thing that would not break! it dipped into the high 11''s and low 12''s ...the 406 is back in the car now and back from the painter...1 year wait...the painter threw the side molding clips away so I do need the side molding clips, seams the after market ones I have are a poor fit...Help... Options: Selectaire AC
Comments: My 62 started out as a rental unit at Avis in Oklahoma City. It was purchased in 63 by my mom, who worked there at the time. The car was in use until 76, when it was parked out in the pasture. When I turned 16 in 84, we put it back on the road for me to drive to high school. The car was parked from 92-06. Presently, with the help of a "parts car". I am getting this car ready to hit the road again! Submitted by Brian Spaeth, 01/18/2007.

VIN 2U61V123062, BODY 62A, COLOR H, TRIM 32, DATE 16M, DSO BLANK, AXLE 6, TRANS 1
Comments: Car was purchased from Weaver Ford in French Lick, IN by my uncle. He was a ford mechanic. I bought the car from him in 94. He took good care of it but let it sit out a lot in the late 80''s so it has some minor rust on it. It is all orginal and runs great. I was a mechanic back in the 60''s and it is fun to be able to work on this car. It is not a show car though it could be with very little fixing. Submitted by Bud Albright, 01/25/2007.

217. VIN 2G51B139998, BODY 62B, COLOR A, TRIM 25, DATE 29M, DSO BLANK, AXLE 5, TRANS 5
Options: 406 4 barrel engine, 4 speed transmission, Radio delete
Comments: All correct B-code 4 speed Galaxie. The car retains all of it's original numbers, ie engine, tranny, frame and door tag. I bought the car at a swap meet in September 2005 in Fremont, Nebraska. The car was very correct and all parts & pieces appeared intact at that time. However, it was in serious need of a restoration as the interior was dirty & torn, the engine compartment was a mess, the steering wheel was cracked, etc. I took the car to a restoration shop to have it torn down to a shell. A complete frame-off restoration was done using as many NOS parts as possible. The restoration took almost 14 months to complete. I've seen alot of restorations but feel this is probably the nicest 62 restoration to date. The car is currently on display in my collection, along with almost 30 other rare Galaxies from 1960-1969. Some of them can viewed at http://www.mikesclassiccars.net. Submitted by Mike Patak - Blair, Nebraska, 01/25/2007.

Comments: Photos and comments used with permission of St. Louis Car Museum.

While there are several obvious classics from the GM and Chrysler brands for 1962, among the less publicized but equally special and collectable offerings for the year were the well-styled and popular Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner Convertibles.

This extremely handsome Corinthian White on Red crush vinyl with white power convertible top 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner convertible is a very special 66K original mile, two owner (with one owner since 1977) car and features desirable options such as; 390cid, 300hp, V8 with Cruise-O-Matic transmission, power convertible top, Kelsey Hayes style wire wheels, and the full force of auto making craft which Ford had at its disposal.

For the collector or enthusiast alike, this will be a very special purchase and one of the most rewarding investments they will soon make! Submitted by Paul, 01/28/2007.
